Posted by: “Nancy Sanderson”

Does the idea of a long healthy life excite you, if so, I’d like to share the secret to the fullness of longevity of life. I am delighted to bring to you the highest quality of therapeutic oils in the world so that we may contribute to the health, joy and prosperity of people everywhere. When your health is great, you are the wealthiest person in the world. But when your health declines your wealth has diminished. So without any further ta-do lets learn how we can achieve great health and why Essential Oils works.

What is Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oil…?

One of the factors that determines the purity of an oil is its chemical constituents or properties. These constituents can be affected by a vast number of variables, including: the part(s) of the plant from which the oils was produced, soil condition, fertilizer (organic or chemical), geographical region, climate, altitude, harvesting methods, and distillation processes. For example common thyme (Thymus Vulgaris) produces several different chemo types )biochemically unique variants within one species), depending on the conditions of its growth, climate, and altitude.

One chemo type of thyme will yield an essential oil with high levels of thymol, depending on the time of year it is distilled. The later it is distilled in the growing season (mid summer or fall). The more thymol the oil will contain. The action Thymol has is that it is highly antimicrobial, antifungal, antiviral, uterine tonic, cardiotonic.

The key to producing a therapeutic-grade essential oil is to preserve as many of the delicate aromatic compounds within the essential oil as possible. Fragile aromatic chemicals are easily destroyed by high temperature and pressure as well as contact with chemically reactive metals, such as copper or aluminum.
This is why all therapeutic-grade essential oil should be distilled in stainless steel cooking chambers at a low pressure and low temperature.

This is one of the reason I am letting you know why it is so important to know that there is a difference in Pure Therapeutic-grade Essential oils and other grades of essential oils. Why when someone who may use lavender for instance, does not get the disired effect they thought they would get, and call it snake oil. It’s because it is inferior, the molecules have been fractored making it a low grade oil.

In distilling essential oil, it is not just a job, it is an ART. The operator of the distiller must have a full understanding of the value of the oil in order to produce the highest quality of oil.

Oils that are subjected to high heat and pressure have a distinctly simpler and inferior profile of chemical constituents, since excessive heat and temperature fractures and breaks down many of the delicate aromatic compounds within the oil–some of which are responsible for its therapeutic action can make it useless and can be harmful. When that happens then you no longer have therapeutic-grade essential oil. Also the length of time in distilling is very crucial.

For instance:
Cypress: takes 2000 lbs. to get 1 lb of oil, distilled at 0 pressure and 220 degrees, when finished it contains 280 aromatic compounds.

If it is distilled for 20 hours you only get 20 of the 280 properties. If distilled for 26 hours you get 0 properties. The correct length of time for distilling cypress is 24 hours, which gives you the full 280 aromatic compounds. Most distillers distill cypress for only 3 1/2 hours.

So are you going to get any value out of that cypress? No your not! That is why it is important to know the difference between pure therapeutic-grade essential oil verse other oils. They can say they are pure, which they have the right, if there is one drop of pure oil in the bottle. But most of the time when you ask how it was distilled they can not tell you.

Here is an example of a few other plants showing that each plant has to be distilled different.

It takes 1000 lbs of Melaleuca to get 10-15 lbs of oils at 3 lbs of pressure and 218 degree for 2-3 hours.

It takes Lavender 175-250 lbs to get 1 lb of oils at 3 lbs of pressure and should not exceed 245 degrees

Geranium takes 500 lbs to get 6 lbs of oil at 1.2 pressure and 200 degrees, taking 1-3 hours to distill

Cinnamon takes 1300 lbs to get 5 ozs at 5 lbs of pressure and 225-235 degrees taking 9-24 hours to distill

It takes 5,000 pounds of rose petals to produce approximately one pint of rose oil.

The plant material should also be free of herbicides and other chemicals. These can react with the essential oil during distillation to produce toxic compounds. Because many pesticides are oil-soluble, they can also mix into the essential oil.

Also the oils should be stamped with the AFNOR/ISO Standards . (Association French Normalization Organization Regulation) or ISO certification on the Gas chromatography, saying they are 100% pure therapeutic-grade essential oil. This standard is more stringent and differentiates true therapeutic–grade essential oils from similar Grade A essential oils with inferior chemistry.

The AFNOR standard was written by a team headed up by the government certified botanical chemist /Doctor Casabinca. Dr. Casabianca introduced these standards in the year of 2000, into North American when he collaborated with Sue Chao who is Young Living’s Research Lab Manager to the European standards. Dr. Casabianca combined his studies with other research scientists and other doctors to make sure
that everyone who wants therapeutic-grade essential oil will get therapeutic grade oil being stamped with the AFNOR standards.

I would like to take a moment to show you how oil labeled by a name can be completely different then what they should be.

For instance, Essential oil may be labeled as “basil” and have a botanical name (Ocimun basilicum), but it can have a widely different therapeutic actions, depending on its chemistry. For example, basil high in linalool or fenchol is primarily used for its antiseptic properties. However, basil high in methyl chavicol is more anti-inflammatory than antiseptic and is antispasmadic. A third type, basil high in eugenol, has both anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effect.

Of even greater concern is the fact that some oils are adulterated, engineered or “extended” with the use of synthetic chemical. They can be very detrimental, causing rashes, burning, skin irritations, allergic reactions, and etc., besides being devoid of any therapeutic effects. For example , pure frankincense is often extended with colorless, odorless solvents, such as diethyplhthalate or dipropylend glycol.

The only way to distinguish the “authentic” from the “adulterated” is to subject the essential oil to rigorous analytical testing using state of-the-art gas chromatography, mass spectroscopy, and NMRI carbon testing. In addition, oils that are steam distilled are far different from those that
are solvent extracted.

When odorless solvents are used and to high of heat and temperture is done during distillation this is what other aromatic compounds are left out which makes true thereapeutic -grade essential oil work and why other grades of oil will not work.

Phenols increase the volicity in the blood by increasing the oxygen and moving it along. Phenols are antiseptic, and kills bacteria, an are anti-oxidant which increases the oxygen into the tissue to relieve muscles spasms. Esters and aldehydes have a stimulating and
sedating effect on the nerve endings. Our basil has 72% methyl charvicol which works great on spasmodic muscles. If the muscle doesn’t relax then the nerve may be affected, so you would want to look for an oil that has Esters which makes it calming and relaxing to the nerve.

For instance by using 1 drop Basil, 3 Eucalyptus by applying it to the chest, it may help relax the lungs and increase the oxygen. Or you may use 3 Basil and 1 Black Pepper as a raindrop up the spine for the anti-viral effect. You use less drops of the one with the highest Phenols, because the less you use, it pushes the effect you want. For skin problems such as shingles and herpies simplex, you can relieve the pain and itching by using 7 drops Bergamot (for the calming and soothing feeling), 3 Melissa (for a soothing effect), 5 Lavender ( for balancing).

When the problem is better reduce the Lavender and add Myrrh for the finishing effect. People with high acid need to use oils that are high in Sesquiterpenes. Sesquiterpenes are antiseptic, anti-inflammatory. They work on the liver and are a gland stimulant. They increase oxygen
around the pineal and pituitary glands and have the ability to cross the blood brain barrier.

If you are attracted to phenols then you may have a bacteria in the body. If the body is building mucous then use Lavender to balance the parasympathetic system that produce mucous and get your body in an alkaline state. Also use equal parts of lemon and peppermint to cut mucous.

Most viruses, fungi and bacteria cannot live in the presence of many essential oils, specially those high in phenols, carvacrol, thymol, and terpenes. This, perhaps, offers a modern explanation why in the Old Testament, prophet Moses used aromatic substances to protect the Israelites from the plagues that decimated the ancient Egyptians. A vast body of testimonials suggest that those who use essential oils are less likely to contract infectious disease. Moreover, oils users who do contract an infectious illness tend to recover faster than those using antibiotics.

Essential oils are aromatic, volatile liquids distilled from shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes, and seeds. Vegetable oils can become oxidized and rancid over time and are not antibacterial. Essential oils on the other hand cannot go rancid and are powerful antimicrobial. They are chemically very complex, consisting of hundreds of different chemical compounds. Moreover, they are highly concentrated and far more potent then dried herbs. They are oxygenating and help transport nutrients to the cells of the body. Without oxygen, nutrients cannot be assimilate; therefore, the oxygenating essential oils can help us maintain our health.

Unlike synthetic chemicals, essential oil chemicals are diverse in there effects and actions.

Various constituents in essential oils have been proven to increase oxygen intake of the cells as well as their ability to use oxygen from other source. No two oils are alike. Some constituents, such as aldehydes found in Lavender and Chamomile, are antimicrobial and calming. Eugenol, found in cinnamon and clove is antiseptic, and stimulating. Ketones, found in Lavender, Hyssop, and Patchouly, stimulate cell regeneration and liquefy mucous. Phenols, found in oregano and thyme oil, are highly soothing to inflamed tissue. They were found in 1994 to go beyond the blood brain barrier, increasing oxygen around the pineal and pituitary glands.

In 1992, Bruce Tainio of Tainio Technology, an independent division of Eastern State University in Cheny, Washington, built the first frequency monitor in the world. Tainio has determined that the average frequency of the human body during the daytime is 62-68 Hz. (A healthy body frequency is 62-72 Hz.) When the frequency drops, the immune system is compromised. If the frequency drops to 58 Hz, cold and flu symptoms appear, at 55 Hz, diseases like Candida & pneumonia takes hold, at 52 Hz, Epstein Barr at 42 Hz, Cancer, Death sets in at 20Hz.

According to Dr. Royal R. Rife, every disease has a frequency. He found that certain frequencies can prevent development of disease and that others would destroy disease. Substances with higher frequency will destroy diseases of a lower frequency. The study
of frequencies raises important ques tions concerning the frequencies of substances we eat, breath and absorb. Many pollutants lower healthy frequency.

Processed/canned foods have a frequency of zero. Fresh produce has up to15 Hz, dry herbs from 12 to 22 Hz, and fresh herbs from 20 to 27 Hz. Essential oils start at 47 Hz and go as high as 320 Hz, which is the frequency of Rose oil.

Clinical research shows that essential oils have the highest frequency of any natural substance known to man, creating an environment in which disease, bacteria, virus, fungus, etc., cannot live. In fact, clinical research has proven that 100% pure essential oils are immune stimulating. Moreover, other research shows that many of the “super bugs” that has modern medicine so concerned, cannot survive in the presence of essential oils…nor has there been any pathogen known to resist them by mutating.

As you apply the essential oils to your body you are wondering what happens? Essential oils are made up of amino acid structures. This is why they are synergistic, why they will penetrate the dermal shield so quickly and will absorb into the system so efficiently and fast . By applying the oils to the skin they will go into the system in 2-3 seconds and saturate the whole body in 21 minutes depending on the size of the body. The effects of the essential oils (the frequency) can last up to 5 month.

Because of their molecular structure, essential oils form an amino acid chain which bonds with proteins. This means that anytime you rub essential oils on your skin, drop them in your mouth for flavoring or use the dietary supplements (such as VitaGreen, NingXia Red and other supplements of Young Living) the Essential oil molecules are bonding with the proteins of the tissue they are in contact with.

Essential oils have a chemical structure that is similar to that found in human cells and tissues. Thus making essential oils compatible with human protein which enables them to be readily identified and accepted by the body.

Because of their unique ability they can penetrate the cell membranes and diffuse throughout the blood and tissues.

So in other words the essential oils bond with protein molecules and therefore they enhance the protein absorption, protein conversion and protein utilization. Essential oils without question enhance your body’s ability to utilize the protein more efficiently and by using the essential
oils we are assisting the body to heal itself.

The ability of some essential oils, like clove, will decrease the viscosity or thickness of the blood, enhance circulation and improve the immune function. Adequate circulation is vital to good health, since it affects the function of every cell and organ, including the brain.

Research indicates that when essential oils are diffused, they can increase atmospheric oxygen and provide negative ions, which in turn inhibits bacterial growth. This suggest that essential oils could play an important role in air purification and neutralizing odors.
Because of their ionizing action, essential oils have the ability to break down and render potentially harmful chemicals nontoxic.

In the human body, essential oils stimulate the secretion of antibodies, neurotransmitters, endorphins, hormones, and enzymes. Essential oils containing limonene have been shown to prevent and slow the progression of cancer.

Nicole Stevens spoke to us at last year at the convention about the research that is being done on 74 essential oil in the studies of cancer. 69 single, and 5 mixtures on Cervical, breast, skin, and prostate cancer cell lines with a Non-cancerous 3T3 (mouse) fibroblast cells.

In her studies, Nicole is examing Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) which is relatively new cancer treatment that causes cell death in photosensitive cells that are exposed to specific wavelengths of light. PDT works on the photosensitive molecules in the cancer cell. This therapy is based on
using medications to stimulate production of the cell’s own photosensitive molecules. Then light is introduced that excites the photosensitive molecules. These excited molecules damage the DNA and proteins in the cancer cell and if this damage is sufficient, it will cause the cancer cell to die.

OBJECTIVE:
Oils showing 50% or more cancer cell inhibition and 25% or less inhibition of non-cancer cell growth will be recommended for further study as potential anticancer drugs.

RESULTS:
58% of the 74 oils showed general cancer inhibition of 50% or greater. 34% of the 74 oils showed cancer-specific inhibition. Seven of those were active against two or more cancer cell lines.

Of particular interest: Oils showing synergistic effects, Oils with significant activity at the lowest concentration tested and Oils with multiple anti-cancer activity.

CONCLUSION:
Essential oils have the potential as anticancer drugs Further research should be done on promising essential oils–this may lead to new
cancer drugs. Many technologies available.

ALPHA-SANTALOL Vs SKIN CANCER:
1. Researchers at the South Dakota State University found that the main component of Sandalwood oil, the alpha-santalol, protected skin from cancer.

2. Application of alpha-santalol to skin exposed to cancer-causing chemicals dramatically delayed the onset of tumor growth in test subjects.
–C., Dwivedi et al,. 2003
~~~~~~~~~~~
Grapefruit EO in a 200 parts per million concentration inhibits skin cancer by 80.50 %
Hyssop 200 ppm by 75.90 %
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sandalwood EO 100 ppm inhibits Breast Cancer by 98.10%
Myrtle 200 ppm 95.20%
Tsuga EO (Hemlock) 200 ppm by 93.10 %
~~~~~~~~~
Sandalwood 100 ppm inhibits prostrate cancer by 84.10%
Canadian Red Cedar 50 ppm 82.60%
Myrtle 200 ppm 67.0%
Thyme 50 ppm by 56.70%
Dill 200 ppm by 56.50%
Cervical Cancer
Tsuga 200 ppm by 99.10%
Galbanum 200 ppm by 99.%
Patchouli 50 ppm by 98.80%
Sandalwood 100 ppm by 97.20%
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is really interesting to have these studies being done. It give use hope so we don’t have to kill the good cells when trying to kill the cancerous cells with chemotherapy and radition.

Here is a protocall to follow:

Tumors

Idaho Balsam Fir & Frankincense can kill all 7 Tumor lines

Protocol: By alternating the following on a tumor site, to keep Cancer in a state of confusion for it can develop a propensity to ward off constant EO use from a steady application of the same oils with out changing the kinds of oils used.

Frankincense & Tsuga treat for 3 days then switch to:
Frankincense & Ledum treat for 3 days then use
Frankincense & Lavender treat the tumor for 3 days then use
Frankincense & Clove for 3 days then use
Frankincense & Tsuga again, and repeat the above.

Other oils, like lavender, have been shown to promote the growth of hair and increase the rate of wound healing. They increase the uptake of oxygen and ATP, (adenosine triphosphate), the fuel for individual cells.

European scientists have studied the ability of essential oils to work as natural chelators, binding with heavy metals and petrochemicals and ferrying them out of the body. Dr. Hill adminstrator of the Young Life research clinic has worked with a blend called JuvaCleanse to remove heavy
metals out of the body in 96 hours.

The ability of essential oils can act on both the mind and the body which makes them truly unique among natural therapeutic agents. The fragrance of one essential oil can be very stimulating-both psychologically and physical. And the fragrance of another essential oil may be calming and sedating, helping to overcome anxiety or hyperactivity. On a physiological level, essential oils may stimulate immune function and regenerate damage tissue. Plus essential oils may also combat infections and disease by killing viruses, bacteria and other pathogens.

There are many people who are living proof that essential oils can be used to engineer recoveries from serious illness. Essential oils have been pivotal in helping many people live pain-free after years of intense pain. Patients have also witnessed first hand how essential oils have corrected
scoliosis and even restored hearing in those who are born deaf.

A woman from Palisades Park, Ca., developed scoliosis as a result of surviving polio as a teenager, which was complicated by a fall and dislocated shoulder. Suffering again and immobility for 22 years, she had traveled extensively in a fruitless search to locate a practitioner who could permanently reset her shoulder. Upon learning, about essential oils, she topically applied the oil blend called Valor, helichrysum and birch to the shoulder. Within a short time she became pain free as the shoulder relocated on its own . She was able to raise her arm over her head for the first time in 22 years.

When one sees such dramatic recoveries, it is difficult to discredit the value and power of essential oils and the potential they hold.

Now you may be wondering where do I start. Well Young Living has put together a kit with 3 single oils and 4 blend. It makes it a greatfirst aid kit. There are 3 single oils and 4 blends. Here is a discription of each and a testimony

Lavender is an Universal Oil when in doubt use Lavender(Lavandula angustifolia CT Linalol):

is the most versatile of all essential oils. Therapeutic-grade lavender has been highly regarded for the skin.
Lavender (Lavendula Angustifolia):

Is the most “universal” oil. (When in doubt, use Lavender.) The French scientist Rene^ Gattefosse^ was the first to discover lavender’s ability to promote tissue regeneration and speed wound healing when he severely burned his arm in a laboratory accident.

Medical Properties:
It’s antiseptic, anti-fungal, analgesic. anti-tumoral, sedative, anti- convulsant, vasodilating, relaxant, reduces blood fat/cholesterol, combats
excess sebum on skin, anti-inflammatory.

Uses:
Burns (cell renewal) wonderful effects with taking the burn away from any type of burns (including lips), dandruff, hair loss, allergies, convulsions, herpes, headaches, indigestion, insomnia, high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis, nausea, phlebitis, tumors,menopausal conditions, premenstrual conditions, PMS, scarring (minimizes), skin conditions (perinial repair, acne, dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, and rashes,) and stretch marks, nervous tension, respiratory infections. It may be used to cleanse cuts, bruises, and skin irritations.

Fragrant Influences:
Calming, relaxing, and blanking, both physically and emotionally. University researchers in Japan found that diffusing certain aromas in an office environ- ment dramatically improved mental accuracy and concentrations. Diffused lemon resulted in 54% fewer errors, Jasmine 33% fewer errors, At the University of Cincinnati, Dr. William N. Dember found that inhaling peppermint oil increased the mental accuracy by 28%. When aromas were diffused during test taking, scores increased by as much as 50%. It has been documented to improve concentration and mental acuity.

University of Miami researchers found that inhalation of lavender oil increased beta waves in the brain, suggesting heightened relaxation. It also reduced depression and improved cognitive performance (Diego et al.; 1998) A 2001 Osaka Kyoiku University study found that lavender reduced mental stress and increased alertness (Motomura et al,; 2001).

Lavender (Lavandula Angustifolia) has 187 constituents and synthetic lavender only has 4 constituents . How can you get any benefit from using over the counter lavender? Adulterated and mislabeled essential oils present dangers for consumers. One woman who had heard of the ability of lavender oil to sooth burns used lavender oil from a local health food store when she spilled boiling water on her arm. But the pain intensified and the burn worsened, so she later complained that lavender oil was worthless for soothing burns.

When her “lavender” oil was analyed, it was found to be lavandin, a hybrid lavender that is chemically very different from pure Lavendula Angustifolia. Lavandin contains high levels of camphor (12-18%) and can itself burn the skin which intensified her burn.. The Lavendula Angustifolia, contains virtually no camphor and has a burn soothing agent which is not found in lavandin.

Here is another testimony from Keith Bartholomew

I thought you might be interested in an experience I had. Yesterday a co-worker got mixed up with a large grinder here at work. It peeled the hide off three of his fingers, one finger nail was ground clear through. I called Delene (my wife) and had her bring the lavender over. He wasn’t sure he
wanted to put it on because it might burn. I told him that if anything it would take the burn out of the burn. We applied it and it really helped. The pain was mostly gone and the stiffness went out of it.

I applied the lavender about once an hour and as he was going home offered the bottle. His
response was, that’s ok, we have some at home. I explained that the training I had, had warned us about some of the “cheap” lavenders and what they did to burns. He assured me that he had “good” stuff and left.

This morning as soon as he got here he looked me up. Seems like his “lavender” isn’t the good stuff. He said that when he put it on it about set his hand on fire.

He has to fly out to Washington state tomorrow and says he is going to stop at the farm on the way and get some “good” lavender.

Keith

LEMON is anti-infectious, disinfectant, antibacterial, antiseptic, & antiviral. It can improve circulation, promote white blood cell formation & improve immune function, asthma, herpes, warts, shingles, bleeding, malaria, parasites, rheumatism, throat infection, ureter infections, and varicose veins. Lemon has antiseptic-like propeties and contains compounds that have been studied for their effects on immune function.

According to Jean Valnet, M.D. the vaporized essence of lemon can kill menigococcus bacteria in 15 minutes, typhoid bacilli in one hour, Staphylococcus aureus in two hours, and Pneumococcus bacteria within three hours. Even a 0.2% solution of lemon oils can kill diphtheria bacteria in 20 minutes and inactivated tuberculosis bacteria. Lemon Oil has been widely used in skin care to cleanse skin and reduce wrinkles.

Lemon is great for seed warts. I have seen them just fall off after just having Lemon applied to them three times. Also I have use it for laryngitis by just holding the open bottle and enhaling the aroma and soon you will be talking. Plus it is great to take gum out of childrens hair, carpet, and toys without any stain or a sign of gum ever being there. Put it in your water to help for water retention, and eliminate bad bacteria in the water. Lemon and peppermint together help to cut phlem. NANCY SANDERSON

PEPPERMINT is anticarcinogenic, supports digestion, decongestant, anti-infectious, antibacterial, antifungal, stimulant, cardiotonic, stimulates gallbladder, pain-relieving, expectorant & anti-inflammatory for the urinary & intestinal tracts, fevers, heat stroke, depression, skin conditions (eczema, Psoriasis, dermatitis), food poisioning, headaches, hives, hysteria, inflammation, morning sickness, nerve regenertion, rheumatism, elevate and open sensory system, toothaches, tubrculosis. It can heighten or restore the sense of taste by stimulating the trigeminal nerve.

Peppermint was applied to my little two year old granddaughter’s feet and the peppermint floral water sprayed on her body to reduce the fever of 103.5 and it worked. My son use to get heat strokes quit often so he is never without the peppermint to apply to the back of the neck and forehead to cool him down. I use peppermint to keep the ants out of the house. I just sprinkle it across the door jab and when one came up to come in as I was applying it he reared up on his hind legs with his antennas waving and he pivoted around and was gone.

I also add 10 -30 drops of peppermint to the peppermint floral water to make it stronger and spray the horses to keep the biting bugs off. Headaches, I put one drop in palm of hand and cup over my nose and inhale for a few seconds and then take away. I repeat this if necessary and apply across my forehead a couple drops. Nancy Sanderson

JOY is an exotic blend that produces a magnetic energy to enhance the frequency of self-love and bring joy to the heart. It may help overcome grief and depression. This blend contains Rose, Bergamot, Mandarin, Geranium, YlangYlang, Lemon, Jasmine, Palmarosa, Roman Chamomile, Rosewood.

On days when I feel out-of-sorts (cranky, frustrated, depressed, etc.), I rub a drop over my heart & a drop on the bottom of each foot. About 5 minutes later, I realize I’m no longer in a bad mood! In the beginning, this was the only fragrance I didn’t especially care for. Now, I like the aroma so much that I sometimes wear it as a perfume! If I have to drive in heavy traffic,I can handle the stress a lot better too. Lynn

PANAWAY is a blend of Helichrysum, Birch or Wintergreen, Clove & Peppermint. This blend was created to help heal an injury where the ligaments in a leg were severely torn. It helps reduce inflammation, increasing circulation, thus reducing pain.so the body’s immune will help the body to heal.. It can give relief from arthritis, sports injuries, sprains, muscle spasms, bumps and bruises. Apply on location

PanAway is also great for massed fingers and toes. That throbbing you get from a finger being massed will stop when you apply PanAway. Great for any type of bruising, apply on location since this oil has helichrysum in it, it helps control bleeding and your bruise will not show up, plus it controls bleeding from an open wound if you do not have helichrysum to apply to a severe cut that is bleeding bad. I had cut my thumb to the bone and the blood was spurting and by applying helichrysum to the cut it stopped the bleeding.

From using both PanAway and helichrysum I did not feel the needle when I had to have 11 stitches in my thumb from the cut. Today you really have to look just right to see the scar. That is how well the essential oil worked. I have used this for everything that hurts. Nancy Sanderson

PEACE & CALMING is a blend of Blue Tansy, Patchouly, Tangerine, Orange and Ylang Ylang. It’s a gentle fragrance that is designed for diffusing. It promotes relaxation & a deep sense of peace, helping to dampen tensions and uplift spirits. When massaged on the bottom of the feet, it can be a wonderful prelude to a peaceful night’s rest. It may calm overactive and hard-to-manage children. This blend can help reduce anxiety, stress, depression, anxiety and insomnia. This blend along with Mineral Essence may be a healthy alternative to Ritalin.

You may add lavender with the Peace and Calm for insomnia three drops each mix and rub on the feet and a couple of drops around the naval be careful so it doesn’t get inside the navel. It can sting some, and a couple of drops and the back of the neck and this will indeed take care of the insomnia. Also you can alternate with Citrus Fresh and Lavender for insomnia. It is also great for stress and hyperactive children. A friend of mine
has grandchildren and the little boy is very hyper never playing with one thing no longer then a few minutes.

Just bounce from here to there. Joe found that by applying Peace and Calming on him he would sat and play with his toys for a good while and be calm. But the only way he could get it on him was tickle his tummy with the oil on his hand and rub it all over his tummy. He soon learned that he didn’t get in as much trouble when he had his tummy tickled. One day he got into trouble with grandma and he came running to grandpapa, “saying, grandpapa tickle my tummy tickle my tummy.

PURIFICATION is a blend of Citronella, Lemongrass, Lavandin, Rosemary, Melaleuca (altrnifolia) & Myrtle. When diffused, this antiseptic blend cleanses the air & neutralizes mildew, cigarette smoke & disagreeable odors. It may be used to cleanse cuts, scrapes & neutralize the poison of insect bites (spiders, bees, wasps, etc.), scorpions & rattlesnakes. (Poison ivy and oak. ) During winter, when most of our windows are closed,
I diffuse this blend, to kill airborne viruses & keep the air smelling fresh. If you don’t have a diffuser, just put a couple of drops on cotton balls & put them in a few rooms in your house.

Purification is also great for respiratory problems, plus it really does neutralize the poison from insect bites. I was bit by a brown recluse spider and you know how bad that can be. I appled one drop Melrose, one lavender, and one helichrysum directly on the bite and then made an oatmeal compress and added those oils to that and put the oatmeal compress on to draw the poison out. This worked great and it clear up but would erupt again and look like hamburger.

That was when I learned about Purification. Upon applying it for the first time it cleared up and never erupted again. Use in the diffusor to dispell odor and airborne bacteria. Put 10 drops in about cup of water and spray your carpet where your animal had an accident and the odor will vanish. Nancy

Once or twice a week, add a couple more drops & replace the cotton balls once a month. You’ll be amazed at how fresh your house will smell! A few weeks ago, there was a bad fire about 40 miles east (Jan.’01) & the wind blew the smoke in our direction. Even with all our windows closed, we were having difficulty breathing. Within 5 minutes of diffusing Purification, we stopped coughing & the soreness in our lungs went away! Sophie is one of our cats.

She’s quite the hunter & has gotten into trouble a few times (spider bites & wasp stings). Before these oils, she developed vasculitis & I had to take her to a specialist regularly. This and the Lavender have saved us lots of money at the veterinarian’s office! just put a drop of each on her paws & within 15 minutes, she’s up & playing again! If I eat chocolate, I sometimes get a “zit”. I put a drop of Purification on the area & by the next day, it’s gone! – Lynn

One of the most reliable indicators of essential oil quality is whether the oil is AFNOR or ISO certified. This standard differentiates true therapeutic grade oils from inferior oils.

The AFNOR standard (Association French Normalization Organization Regulation) was written by a botanical chemist, Hervi Casabianca, Ph. D., while working with different analytical laboratories throughout France. He recognized that the constituents within an essential oil had to occur in certain percentages in order for the oil to be considered therapeutic.

Young Living is the only major supplier in North America I am aware of who collaborates with government certified analytical chemists in Europe to insure their essential oils meet AFNOR standards (Association French Normalization Organization Regulation).

Young Living does this because there is no other recognized authority whereby people can know the products they purchase conform to international standards. Important info when addressing customers who are otherwise ignorant of oil differences.

In the Unites States, few companies use the proper analytical equipment and methods to properly analyze essential oils. Most labs use equipment best suited for synthetic chemicals – not for essential oil analysis. We know of only two firms that use the proper machinery and test standards – Flora Research & Young Living Essential Oils. Both of these companies have made serious efforts to adapt the European testing standards, widely regarded as the gold standard for testing essential oils.

Adulteration of essential oils will become more and more common as the supply of top quality essential oils dwindles and demand explodes. These adulterated essential oils will jeopardize the integrity of aromatherapy in the United States and put many people at risk.

ADULTERATED OILS & THEIR DANGERS

Today most of the lavender oil sold in America is a hybrid called lavandin, grown in China, Russia, France and Tasmania. They bring it into France, cut it with synthetic linolyl acetate to improve the fragrance, add propelyne glycol or SD 40, DEP, and DOP, which are solvents that have no smell and increase the volume, then sell it in the U.S. as lavender oil.

Frankincense is another example of an adulterated oil. The frankincense resin that is sold in Somalia costs between $30,000 and $35,000 per ton. The essential oil requires 12 hours to be steam distilled from the resin and is very expensive. Frankincense oil that sells for $25.00 per ounce or less is invariably distilled with alcohol or other solvents. When these cut, synthetic and adulterated oils cause rashes, burns or other irritations, we wonder why we do not get the benefit we were expecting and conclude that essential oils do not have much value.

In France, production of true lavender oil dropped from 87 tons in 1967 to only 12 tons in 1998. During this same time, the demand for lavender oil has grown over 100 times. So where do essential oil marketers obtain enough lavender to meet the demand? They use a combination of synthetic and adulterated oils.

Adulterated and mislabeled essential oils present dangers for consumers. One woman who heard of the ability of lavender oil to heal burns, used lavender from the local health food store when she spilled boiling water on her arm. When the pain intensified and the burn worsened, she later complained that lavender was worthless for healing burns. When her “lavender ” oil was analyzed, it turned out to be lavandin, a hybrid lavender that is chemically very different from pure lavender (lavandula angustifolia). Lavandin contains high levels of camphor (12 to 18%) and will burn the skin. In contrast, true lavender contains virtually no camphor and has burn healing agents not found in lavandin.

Adulterated oils that are cut with synthetic extenders can be very detrimental, causing rashes and burning, skin irritations. Petrochemical solvents can all cause allergic reactions, besides being devoid of any therapeutic effects.
