Idaho Balsam Fir is grounding, stimulating to the mind and relaxing to the body. The simple inhalation of Balsam Fir is shown to reduce cortisol levels by 40%.

Idaho Balsam Fir has also has been helpful for many to relieve pain in overworked or tired muscles, ligaments, tendons, and joints. Many people find that it helps with back pain.

Also used for burns, cuts, aches and pains, arthritis discomfort and respiratory conditions (asthma, bronchitis, catarrh, chronic coughs, sore throat, colds, flu.

Young Living distills Idaho Balsam Fir in January when the weather is bitter cold. The reason is that the trees have a higher oil content during the coldest weather. The oil acts as an antifreeze to protect the tree from the cold and to prevent the needles from falling off the tree.

This is a testimonial to Young Living, that they could be more comfortable doing that work in the warmer days of summer, but chose instead to put their own comfort and safety aside, to get the most benefits from the oil.

Gary Young truly is an expert in his field and the reason why we can be assured that we are getting the best quality oils on the planet! A lot of essential oil companies don’t even know their suppliers or the chemical properties of their oils.

When Gary started producing Balsam Fir he noticed that the crew working on the mountain would get grouchy and used bad language. The crew running the chipper and distilling the oil had an entirely different mood. Since they were inhaling the oil, they had a happy pleasant attitude.

Observing the different attitudes between the 2 crews, Gary decided to switch the crews so the crew working at the top of the mountain would work with distilling for a while. Then he noticed that same thing again. The ones distilling were calm and happy.

What we can learn from this is that Idaho Balsam Fir oil is great for the emotional state.

From The Essential Oils Desk Reference, 4th Edition:

Botanical Family: Pinaceae (pine)

Plant Origin: Bonner’s Ferry, Idaho

Extraction Method: Steam distilled from Leaves (needles) and branches

Key Constituents:

~ Alpha-Pinene (28-49%)

~ Beta Pinene (14-24%)

~ Camphene (13-20%

~ Limonene (13-20%)

ORAC: 20,500 u TE/100g

Historical Data:

The fir tree – a tree commonly used as a christmas tree today – has been prized through the ages for its medicinal effects and ability to heal respiratory conditions and muscular and rheumatic pain.

Medical Properties: Anticoagulant, anti-inflammatory

Uses:

Throat/lung/ sinus infections, fatigue, arthritis/rheumatisms, urinary tract infections, scoliosis/lumbago/ sciatica. Great for the nervous system, Digestive/elmination system, and Glandular/hormonal system.

Fragrant Influence: grounding, stimulating to the mind and relaxing to the body

Application:

Dilute 1 part EO with 1 part VO; (1) apply 2-4 drops on location or use neat in Raindrop Technique; (2) chakras/Vita flex points; (3) directly inhale; (4) diffuse or (5) take as dietary supplement.

To learn more about the harvest and see Gary Young and his team in action, go online to watch a short video and listen to two audio files.

Experiences with Idaho Balsam Fir & Deep Relief…

Just want to share a fun discovery from doing a Raindrop Treatment today, using Idaho Balsam Fir.

This is with a client who comes in weekly and has chronic back problems, (post lumbar disc surgery and matching scar).

I applied Valor to begin with, as usual. Then I tried something new. I applied V-6 oil to create a lubricated base, then about 8 drops Idaho Balsam Fir across spine, feathered in, then lightly massaged for better distribution. I then applied the rest of the Raindrop Oils, as usual.

By the end of the Raindrop Treatment, when it was time to massage her back, my client’s muscles where incredibly relaxed…We’ve been doing Raindrop Treatments weekly for almost a year, experimenting with different techniques. This was the most awesome one yet!

Also, I think the surgery scar has diminished about 40- 50%. WOW. I used to do cross-fiber massage to help soften it, but haven’t done anything for several months. The only thing we’ve been doing different is using Balsam Fir as one of the Raindrop oils several weeks in a row.

Could the scar be shrinking from use of the Fir? Worth a try for someone needing that relief.

I really love Idaho Balsam Fir. Maybe we could have a contest of most incredible Fir Stories–the winner gets a case–I’m always out of it!

Have a Sunny Day! – Sondra

*** *** ***

I had rotator cuff problems in my left shoulder for about 2 years with the pain continually getting worse to the point that I could not raise my arm over my head or bend it behind my back.

I started using Panaway, Lavender, and Balsam Idaho Fir essential oils and within several weeks the pain subsided and the range of motion increased. I now have no more pain at all after several months of using the essential oils. I do continue to use the oils on my arm occasionally. — Denise

*** *** ***

I tend to carry all my stress in my neck and shoulders and once in a great while my neck will get so stiff it is difficult to turn. I have found the best relief is layering Balsam Fir, Aroma Siez, Ortho Sport and Peppermint on my neck and shoulders before going to bed. The next day I feel great. — Cindy

*** *** ***

I use Idaho Balsam Fir in my massages when I run into a back muscle that will not yield to anything. Two drops and the muscle melts. If you are hurting, this would be the first oil I would grab, you may not need another. — Janet

*** *** ***

I have been using the new roll-ons from Young Living Convention and love them. I worked out for the first time in 6 months at the gym and had a stiff neck. Then I went grocery shopping, took out my Deep Relief, and put it on my neck in the store. I went on to finish shopping withmuch relief! — Linda

*** *** ***

I just got all three roll-ons and the deep relief is AMAZING! I kid you not I watched the muscles in my feet relax, I could see them jumping, looked like when a baby kicks a mom’s stomach, I have never seen such a thing and the smell is much more pleasant to me than the PanAway.

I got a bit too much on my neck though hoooheee is it a bit warm, smells great though and I have so much more energy since using my oils everyday!

Experiences With Idaho Balsam Fir…

These testimonies came in from the Sha-Faun Team Thanks, it really helps to let others know these products work great for all problems.

Idaho Balsam is an oil I will never be without again! I use it for depression, pain, and a slew of other things…Let me add that I have (had) fibromyalgia. I used Balsam from the day it came out, and now, I have about 70-90% less pain than before…I really attribute it to Balsam oil!
———————————————-
I have had really great success supporting my “recovering jaw issues” with Idaho Balsam Fir…I just rub a drop inside and a drop out right on the joint. I have had jaw issues for years. (I have a degree in vocal performance…and we joke that it is ‘singers jaw’.) Now…I only have a twinge every few weeks or so…and two drops of Balsam kicked it!
Good Luck! — Jessica
————————————————-

We thank Lori and Stacey for sharing these Deep Relief Roll-on experiences:

Lori writes:

This past weekend, I applied Deep Relief Roll-on to the neck of a disabled wheelchair-bound woman. Due to complications from a mosquito bite that affected her nervous system 42 years ago, her neck had been tilted to the left side, very tight and painful.

The response was immediate and incredible. At first, she said she felt a burning sensation, which she said was tolerable, and about a minute or two later she was able to lift her head to a prone position which she had not been able to do for 42 years!

She then asked me to apply the roll-on to be inside of her spastic, tight hands. Immediately, her hands became more pliable, and she was able to flex her fingers. Her eyes were filled with hope and she literally almost jumped out of her wheelchair.

I wish everyone in Young Living could have seen the look of hope on her face and in her eyes. Even her aide, Patrick was astonished and mentioned that he had never seen her lift your head or be able to open her hands for the three years he’s worked with her.

I thank God (and Gary Young) for providing us with such wonderful products and for giving people hope, who had none apart from Young Living essential oils! – Lori
****************************************

Stacey writes:

I had always found instant relief for my minor knee and back pains with PanAway. So, when the Deep Relief roll-on was introduced at convention, I wondered why Young Living made a new formula instead of just putting PanAway in roll-on form.

I decided to test Deep Relief against PanAway and I am just as pleased with the results and I like the aroma even better! – Stacey
——————————————————————-

Here’s one of my testimonies…

BONE SPURS:

I had a bone spur the size of the end of my thumb on the bottom of my heel which hurt like the dickens. At night I could hardly wait to get off my foot because it hurt so bad but when I did, it hurt worse.

During the night when I had to get up to go to the bathroom it took all I could muster up, to hobble to the bathroom because I couldn’t put any weight at all on the foot.

I had tried R.C. because I had heard that it had dissolved other peoples bone spurs. But it didn’t help mine. I was to the point where I was maybe considering about going to the doctor to see about getting surgery on the heel because I was tired of the pain all the time.

Then one day there was a medical doctor on T.V. and he was talking about doing laser surgery on bone spurs. So I was really interested in seeing what he had to say about it.

The first thing he said was before they did surgery, they would give the patient cortisone shots and then see what happened. Da-a-a-a, What was the matter with me? Why hadn’t I thought of that before?

We have a natural cortisone like action with our tree oils so I applied Idaho Balsam Fir and R.C. together on my heel. The first night the pain was less and in three days the spur was gone and that has been over eight years and I have not had any problems since.

My husband was having the simular problem with his foot on the ball of the foot last spring and I applied Idaho Balsam Fir and R.C. to his foot and in a week his pain was gone and has not came back.

What a relief not to have to resort to surgery and go through more pain and compromise the immune system when we have these wonderful oils to help us. - Nancy Sanderson
